I have been looking at the Beach hunter ID for soom time as well as the xlt I was told that the BHID was as good on land as well as the beach an water I well be doing both in land and the beaches . All the research I have done leads me to believe that I am going to need two Machines which I cant afford at this time so saith My wife ha ha.should I be looking at something else along these lines? look forward to hearing your thoughts Mike

Whites makes very good machines, along with Minelab, Fisher and Garrett. Decide where you will be hunting the most, and buy the machine that will fill your needs. Will you be strickly hunting in the water, or shallow water and wet sand? Keep in mind that if you drop a land machine in the water.......it becomes history. Many of the water machines work very well on land and you don't have to worry about dropping them in the water. Most of all, buy a good machine and learn it well before thinking about buying a second machine, by that time you will truly know what kind of performance you will want from your detector.

I don't know the beach hunter ID. I`m an oldie at this Beach hunting and will say without a doubt the minelab sovereign 2
Was the most universal and best unit I used on dirt or sand.
The sovereign acted like a Pi at the beach and a detector in the dirt.
The trouble is..Is that the two terrain's are completely different and you will have to adjust your senses every time you change terrain's.
I ended up using my minelab at the beach and a fisher or whites on land.
BUT.. The minelab was an exceptional detector for both.
As soon as you can,... Multiply your detectors.
Good luck out there.
