My first deep coins.

Since recieving my MXT from Monte about two months ago I have been doing my best to learn it's ways.
I have been using the 5.3 Eclipse exclusively and was waiting for that first deep coin. My brother called me yesterday to hunt a park and he was using that coil on his new MXT. I had put on the stock 9" coil to hunt another area. This park is extremely trashy. I just couldn't effectively hunt with him. We decided that I would do better hunting the ballfield which had added soil over the original park. It was slim pickings but no trash.
I dialed the MXT to 2.5 Gain. Disc set very low. And started swinging. I got a hit. Dug down about 5 inches and pulled out a nice 1934 penny. Hmmm...not bad I thought. Swung some more and hit another wheatie(1947) at 6 inches. About ten minutes later another hit. Dug down past 7 to 8 inches and hit a mercury dime. I was impressed. Maybe you guys are used to this but I'm not. This was consistent deep targeting for me.
That coil is not that bad. In clean areas and dialed hot, it will reach down there. Thanks for letting me share.

in the near future. I've been on a month-long silver slump. <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":(">
Hang in there and master the MXT (or any other detector you ever use) and enjoy the rewards.

Nice job, Mailman. I've have been in a silver slump also. In fact no old coins at all lately. I keep hoping for my luck to change.

Way to go! Been raining for so long here that I might have to replace my new batteries before I head out again.
