My first Confederate button of the year today

i've never found a Confederate button... and one of them probably dropped it. You should send it to me.... don't you think?

Congrats on a GREAT find... Butch will be jealous too! (That reminds me, I got my American Digger magazine today and haven't looked at it yet).

I believe that is a rare one Jason. Not sure that the back can be salvaged but maybe someone has a back with the proper BM that you could acquire and send for repair. Super nice button none the less!!!! Congrats!

she's a nice one, too. it's well worth sending in for restoration. according to my tice's book, it's a rare ga215am1 or ga215as1, with only a handful known. what size is it? again, congrats on the great find!

I don't know much about this sort of thing but i would leave it like it is.
In all my years of playing in the dirt here in Ky i have only seen one
Confederate button come up, my buddie weaver dug it.
Look at the history saved. Congrats.

I hunt with that pattern, ferrous, 2 tone, pitch hold, deep=on, fast=on and I use the digital screen. No falsing and it unmasks like nothing else with NO falsing when in 2 tone ferrous. I really think that is the secret to real success with the ET... at least for relics.

I didn't know if I had ever thanked you for that program you posted a while back.

So... THANKS !!!!

Julien

PS... I don't know yet for sure but the F75 LTD just may be better with the BP and the small coil.. it really is a huge improvement over the original F75 once you begin to understand it. They claim it is much the same but in BP and CL it is totally different, especially re: swing speed and BP in AM is incrediblly quiet and deadly.

The size is 19mm. Dug it Sat and I am still excited about it will be hard to top this find but I am going to try.

Jason,

I saw a picture of the button you found and I'm very interested. My great, great grandfather was Colonel J.H. D. McRae of the Georgia 16th Regiment. Did you ever confirm that the button was from the 16th Regiment. Thanks for your help! Chris McRae
