My first Coin

KingMatt

New member
When I got home from work tonight I thought I would give my backyard a go. First I found some chewed up aluminium, then this Indian head, I think it is an 1888.
WooHoo! I was so excited :beers:

Where there is one, there are likely to be more. Sounds like you may have a good yard to hunt in. If you have any idea where there used to be an old cloths line or an outhouse, hunt those areas carefully and the lines between them and the house.

Congrats on the Indian.
Cheers,
tvr

Good job. If you found one, there will be more and maybe some silver. Remember to go slow and take your time. What detector you using? Have fun... KEN

That's awesome, my first coin was also an Indian head 1902. I remember how excited I was! You will now be hooked like I was. Congrats KingMatt!

Excellent start Matt.... My favorite non silver coin....

Nice going on the Indian Head , that's a great first coin and a great coin anytime . Welcome to the forum and keep the girl friend and the Compadre and life will be good . For those who missed King Matt's first few posts his Compadre was given to him by his Girl friend . Matt , save at least of those rings you are going to be finding .:inlove:

Kinda gets you going doesn't it? Good for you.

Matt thats a very nice find looks like you will find some real nice things, if no one found that one just think what els is out in that spot or in the general earea

Thanks guys, I am really enjoying the Compadre, and I am defiantly hooked. I am getting lots of hits in the yard, so I will have lots of practice before venturing out to find other places to hunt.

Matt

Congrats My 0ldest 2 silvers were found in my on yard.1832 half dime 1889 dime in the same day and a 1901 indian to boot.Maybe we wander from home to soon sometimes.HH:shrug:

Way to go! Finding a old coin is about as good as a morphine drip. The best thing to do is to grid off your yard with some stakes and string and go over every inch of it. Go real slow and take your time. Where there's one old coin there's liking another. Good luck!

Sweet find  that means there may be more older coins and stuff in that yard. Search the yard well and run a good grid pattern over it and let us know if you find more.

Old coins are what really make you :clapping: at the end of the day.

Happy Hunting, :detecting:
