My first chinese coin!

Explorer.se

Well-known member
I hunted a house built in 1910 and came away with my first Chinese coin ever! I also found a few wheaties from the 1940's

Does the Chinese coin have a date?

I think Chinese coins are marked with the Emperor in place at time of minting. There is a website that will help you date it. There is no year on the coin that I am aware of.

Explorer.se, that is a neat find! Congratulations. Here is a sight that may help you to positively identify it:

Thank you very much Blind Squirrel, Huntindog gave me the same link, thank you both! It is amazing just to believe I found something so old! This is my oldest coin to date!

It is:

Emperor KAO TSUNG
AD 1736-1795
reign title: CH'IEN-LUNG, AD 1736-1795

CH'IEN-LUNG

I read somewhere that they were on some sort of imported baskets that were popular in the early 1900s. .. i found one some years back at a 1900 home site and i highly highly doubt there were any Chinese folks roaming the Pennsylvania dutch countryside. .lol. cool find...
