My first beach hunt this year

I heard somewhere that some of the lakes were down
and I've been wanting to do some beach hunting, but
the beaches are always crowded.

Today they were predicting rain for late morning, and it
was cloudy. It seemed like an opportunity to get out on
a beach. So I went to Lake DeGray.

It worked. There wasn't any one on the beach today.

This lake is hit hard by metal detecting club members
out of Hot Springs. The only place that had targets
was where the water had gone down and this machine
turned up the sand.

I found 6 ear rings. ( one not shown ) A piece of gold
chain. ( I lost somewhere ). I also found $3.92 in clad,
a chucky cheese token, a couple of cheap rings, and a
wheat cent in pretty good shape.

The best find was a small woman's 14k gold ring.

I got in about 2 1/2 hours in before the rain set in.

That was a pretty good hunt. At least I wasn't skunked
like last year.

Happy hunting,

DeGray huh? Pretty cool. My father in law use to be the facilities manager at Lake Greeson. From what he told me, that place has been pounded as well. But you never know!

Happy hunting!!!
