Way to go Calabash. You've been loading up here lately on good brass, buttons, etc. where I hunt there's usually lots of lead and very little brass. For me I love lead but I really love some brass. Do you know any history of these spots you've been hunting. Are they mostly camp sites, staging areas, or just what. Nice hunting and thanks for posting your finds. Really enjoy them. :clapping:

I do they are old homesteads and I know the names of the people who lived on a few of them. my guess is just about every man was in the confederacy and thats how these items wound up at the home site the place I found the sunburst button and th S.C. button I believe is a camp site on a homesite because of the items found the other places just have a civil war item here and there but the homesite that i found the buttons on had a good bit of stuff on it.

Thanks Calabash, that's history ain't it ? Ya never know no matter where you are, what lies beneath your feet. :detecting:

one of the house places I hunt a had dr who lived on it and he experiminted on people now thats recorded in some stuff ive read online. thats crazy.I really dont know how to find in depth history on the families that lived on these places any ideas on a place to start looking ?

In the past I've used ancestry.com In that way you can sometimes make contact with living relatives. Hope this helps and congratulation on the 3 ringer. I still remember the exact spot where I found it 20 some odd years ago.
