Went out for about 20 min tonight got my x-terra from backwoods detectors today new to this type of detector it rocks:twodetecting: got a childs medal silver 925-1 wheat penny 1942, and gold plated charm it says 925 on the back.

Well congrats on the very nice hunt. A wheat and silver first time out! That is great, good work, Beale.
 
Oldbob...take your time, learn the detector, and it will be very good. Slow down your swing speed a little for better results.
Practice items under the coil for readings.. I have experienced with the X-70 different dime targets read different numbers.Though in a given range.
Thickness of the coin will make a difference. For seated turn your threshold down to 4-5 range... It's not hard to master this detector..it's just a little different from what you have been using. Practice pinpoint mode...My only dislike is the pinpoint not being as accurate as other detectors I have used.
