I found this Sat. 1856 Large Cent. It is the first time i've gotten below the 1900's as far as coins go. I found it on a farm outside of New Bern NC in the middle of the woods, while hunting for civil war relics.

Congrat's to a nice old keeper. Those are hard to find in my area but there are a few but I haven't been lucky enough to find one yet. That is a heck of a start for your 1800's coins. Hope you find more and maybe even a few silver from the same era. Good Luck and HH.

Very nice find you have there!! I'm sure it won't be your last 1800's coin. I'm still looking for my first large cent and oh yeah, that darn elusive seated coin...........:) One of these days......:) HH.

Darn Jar heads think they know it all. LOL Just kidding. Great find. Those always turn up in the strangest places. Truth be told where there's one, there's always another. Good luck on your return trip and Semper Fi Leather neck. Sgt Weaver T E 1/8 Camp Lejuene N.C. 92-97
