My first $1.00 coin ever

To bad it was a 2009 Sacagawea. Still no silver to report yet.

Still that's a good find. It adds up fast when you find those $1 coins. HH, Nancy

I've never found a Sacagawea, but I've found a Susan B. once. I'll dig dollar coins all day, regardless of what type. Great find.

It would be nice for the U.S. to get rid of the dollar bill and replace it with one and two dollar coins like Canada, but I doubt if I will see that in my lifetime. The downside is the schoolyards would be hunted everyday by somebody and there would be so many detectorists, local governments will be issuing permits (for a fee) to hunt.

That is already happening in some places. I asked to hunt up in Kankakee and they said sure, no problem, just get a permit good for the whole year........... $50.

Even those clad $1.00 coins are fun to pull out. Star and I found 4 last year. 2 sacs and 2 presidential. Haven't found a silver $1.00 coin yet but one of these days.....
