My finds so far

So here are some of the stuff that I have been pulling. Some are obvious but the bullet casing I have been told is pretty old. The large pieces were found in the area of the tannery so I assume that they are pieces of machinery. Of course we have an assortment of nails.

Don't have a clue what the flat circular item is. Anyone know? Curious about the age of the shotgun shell as well.

Nothing major but I'm enjoying myself and cant wait to find something tangible.

Sometimes its just being out their playing lucky dip thats all the fun. Not knowing what the next good signal will be, its all good.
Better out swingin getting just a few finds than sitting on the clacker getting you know what!
Good luck.

Jamie,I'm sure you gonna find some good stuff....There's no telling what people may have burried also to keep away from Sherman's Army,....What detector you using .....good luck hh....Dan
PS keep the pics coming ,some of the folks here can help identify the finds.

Thanks for the encouragement Dan!

I am using a Garrett Ace 250 that my Father bought to recover a wedding ring that was lost. He loaned it to me because I have always wanted to try one out and he just tossed it in the closet.

I know its not a grade A metal detector but it will tell you if something is there.

Really haven't even scratched the surface (no pun intended) of what this property has to offer. First couple of visits were just to get oriented to where everything was.

Best,
Jamie

Jamie the ace 250 will work just fine I had one about three years back when I decided to get more into the hobby I've had some not very good ones off and on thru the years but the ace 250 will find the goodies I dug a coin about 7-8 inches with mine .and a lot of other coins and things.......good luck..........Dan

Thanks for the kind words guys. Had to take a break from hunting for personal reasons but am really beginning to miss it. The fields are calling my name. Hopefully soon.
