My Farmers Tip Pays Off Again - - -

Got back to the farm field where I found the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Solider button. Managed to pull two more buttons out of the iron today. I quieted the iron just a little and went to the nine inch coil. The roughest button just was a squeak but I was sure glad to see it come out of the ground. I also picked up another heart heel plate. Got the shamrock one at a different field on the way home. Gave the nicer button a little clean up too. Hate it that we are into Winter. I would love to hit this place again soon but we have snow coming in.

Those are some nice early finds! I never knew about decorative heel plates. I hear you about the winter...we've had freezing temps for the past 3 days...the ground is frozen enough to keep me in.

Those are some nice buttons and heal plates! Sorry to hear about the frozen ground. We don't see much of that here in South Texas...but our ground becomes as hard as cement due to dry weather. I guess we all have our own types of hinderences to the hobby we love.

Nice finds, That winter would kill me knowing there is more waiting in the ground.....

Very nice find and we are under winter also..

Not sure about everyone else but here in Tennessee we had 4 inches of snow the day after Halloween, an ice storm last Friday and predicted 17F temps this evening . . . . . hard to believe that living in the South I have to contend with frozen ground in mid-November . . . . . must be making up for the summer we never really had either.

Hate to have some great sites lined up and the weather takes them away!
