Regarding the Clad spending Humans anyway!
I was up early and was fixing to go on a Big Lake Water Hunt for gold, we had the second highest waves recorded roll through here Friday, but they dumped more sand than swept it out...I drove around from pier to pier, glassing the shoreline, looking for a cut on a profitable stretch to crawl into...I wasted an hour and a half hopelessly searching..:sadwalk: And, as you can see, it was pretty danged cold to boot..[attachment 302264 nov214-1.jpg]

So I finally said 'tahellwiddit' and drove around some of the local High Schools. Watching my odometer, and figuring how much gas I've burned, and how much loot it would take to break even...The third school, had the gate to the field wide open, it has always been a good place for me, but I was not expecting much seeings how everybody now a days dont use clad no more...But, a fellow has to go check it out, so I fired up the F70 at 56 sens, -3 thresh, 4disc, DP tones, and In I went!...I immediately hit a massive 10 Q spill in front of the concession area! So I settled down to a clad grab...[attachment 302265 nov214.jpg]

Got 120 coins for $18.40 with nothing but a screwdriver and a nail apron in a few short hours. Monetarily speaking, its worth more than finding an oz. of silver. I figured with all these Q's, I'd hit a dollar coin sooner or later, which I did, and it was no surprise...the highlight was the fresh JFK half...as well as a few tight spills that needed an unraveling...thats about it, just a really fun morning sweeping up clad with the F70 I thought I'd share with my fellow Fisher Swishers....its about my favorite way of hunting, and if a guy does the math, probably more profitable on a daily basis than hunting for gold in the cold cruel surf...Rosie consumed less than 2 gallons, so it turned out to be a positive day financially...which is a rare event, and makes a fellow feel sort of good! A couple old guys my age showed up that worked there, so I walked over and we talked a bit, they had NO problem with what I was doing, seeings how I wasnt digging any holes, just stabbing away with the driver and all, they figured it was good for the grass and they wouldnt have to run the plugger or pick up as much trash.... I'll get back in here over Thanksgiving break for jewelry, but today it was nothing but stabbing good solid coins for me..which is fun!

Yep, thats Grand Haven Michigan...the 'deadliest' beach on the Great Lakes. This Lake will flat eat a guy up, more people drown here than any other beach on the Great Lakes...I myself have lost 2 cousins in it...there was a big seiche (tidal wave) on July 4th of 1929 that took a lot of lives...a fellow can google the details of it all pretty interesting...it still gets a lot of traffic in the Summer, and correspondingly, theres a lot of sweepers out hitting it hard, continuously, and often...I pull my share, since I live close by, I can hit it at strategic timeframes...its got a live beachcam thats fun to watch...when the rip gets going, its truly something to see or experience, a fellow cant hardly wade in knee deep water, let alone try to fight the rip..I generally hunt Muskegon area beaches and whatnot, I prefer them actually...nobody goes there to hunt, too dang tough and a lot of walking..This is one big cold and mean body of water, boys....but every once in a while, a fellow finds some gold!....a guy gets only about 10 'perfect' days per year to hunt it, maybe 30 days 'not perfect' but workable...East wind, no waves, warm water, good cuts...It has coughed up some big gold for me, and thats why I keep giving it a lash..[attachment 302275 gold.jpg]

Back when we were kids, (in the 60's) we would ride our Schwinn Typhoons (Now thats a workhorse paper route machine!) down here after a big blow, and coins would be waiting all over the surface on little pillars of sand like that one place in Utah where all the big rocks are perched...we would furiously scuttle around and pick them up! This was back when kids used to ride bikes a long way and the folks had no idea of where we were, plus, we worked all summer..holler at me if you ever get back up this way, CRI!... Its huge sand, takes forever to cover it..ps, the chain with the anchor on it was found by my F70..I prefer the 70 on the dry 'cause its so danged fast and light, a fellow can cut a 12' swath and not miss a thing..

Well thanks for the invite! Sounds like a plan for next summer. Hopefully I will have my F75 back way before then.
I range from Lake St Clair to Hillsdale. We also head up to the Copper Country once a year to visit relatives. We like the beaches where you are just don't spend a lot of time there.
