My F75 reads 5 inches on shallow targets no matter...

What depth they are. If the target is 1 inch, it reads 5 inches, if it is 2 inches it reads 5 inches etc, etc., If it is deeper than 5 inches it reads ok. I don't like the fact that all shallow targets are 5 inches because I sometimes want to eliminate memorial cents and can't because of this. Is this normal or do I have to send it in again. My rubber seal from the first upgrade is actually cracking and falling out in pieces.

Is it consistent? Have you tried a full reset?

I am not aware that all F 75's read 5" on shallower then 5" depths. MINE DOES NOT, nor do some others that I know of. Seems like a problem if nothing else worked to get your 75 reading accurately. HH jim tn

I am always relic hunting so I don't care if it don't read things below 5". All I know if it reads 5" I dig a little hole. If it goes to 8" and over I get ready to dig a big and deep hole.

Mine always read 3 inches off. If a target was 3 inches it read 5. If the meter said 8, it was actually 5. Sending it off monday.

I sent mine off with a few issues, including the meter, which is at least four inches off. It came back with the same problem. If that's all you are sending it in for, you might be wasting time and postage, which ain't cheap anymore.
