My F4 Thoughts

I have had a few days to give the F4 a try. My impression so far is: it will id coins correctly if they are placed on top of the ground. It will id a bottle cap if it is less than 2 inches in the ground. Other than that the id is is always off. I did ground balance it & still won't id correctly. The pinpoint feature on the F4 is the oddest thing I have ever seen, it is not bad if you watch the screen and watch where the depth is the most shallow, that will be where the target is (close anyways). Looks like the meterd machines aren't for me. I don't think that I will be keeping the F4 - I have better luck with the non metered knob type adjustable detectors. Probably most of the problems is on my part because the F4 seems to be a well built/feature rich machine. But if I am not having fun with what I am using it has got to go. So anyone wanting to try out a F4 let me know, I will let it go at a unbelievable price. I didn't start this thread in order to advertise my F4, just wanted to post my opinion of it. So if I am breaking any rules - delete what ever you have to. Thanks! Steve.
P.S. I will say that the F4 doesn't seem to keep hitting on the iron targets after being discriminated out like some of the other Fisher's.

Has anyone used the F4 & found it to be accurate at id'ing? Because mine hasn't been very accurate at all. Thanks! Steve.

I am not trying to sell a detector that isn't working right, I figured this was the way they suppose to work.I imagine if I send it to First Texas they won't find nothing wrong with it & I'll be without a detector for about a month, it is the only one I have to use. Steve.

Operator error or unit malfunction as it should ID correctly..Perhaps a local dealer or perhaps a club member who owns one could help you out..New detectors have a learning period and surely new kid on the block units sometimes have quirks in their early models..
