Explorer you took a fine time to leave me with silver coins in the filed and gold on the beach.

Hi
Has anyone had this sort of thing happen to their Explorer
I have a Explorer se pro I purchased it 2 month ago second hand it worked perfectly until the other week when the battery ran out suddenly I had a spare battery which I put in, it ran out very quickly too, I came home and charged them up, the next day tried the detector put a battery pack in and the screen started up before pressing the start button and flashes between -BATTERY FLAT- BATTERY TO LOW FOR RELIABLE OPERATION. ..and.... AV MINELAB EXPLORER SE.... when I got it started up it did so with all the settings at zero with battery indicator indicating 1/2 full, if I switch off and on factory settings and try to adjust them it freezes with -BATTERY FLAT- BATTERY TO LOW FOR RELIABLE OPERATION. I have to take the battery out to shut it down, I have 3 battery packs 2 chargeable one shows 10.85 the other 10.64 and a AA battery pack that reads 12.89 .

Regards, Duncan.

Just on a hunch, try the AA battery pack and see if it still acts up. I had problems with my re chargables and just went strickly with the AA's.

Put a multi meter on the battery...... should read around 12V and output of the charger is at least 15V. Id recommend using some corrosive spray inside of the battery hole.... they do wierd things when they get a little corrosion. Also, like was mentioned try the AA pack.

Hi, Thanks for your time I have tried the AA battery pack still has the problem, I've also tested the battery packs with a volt meter, the rechargeable ones show 10.85v and 10.64v, the AA battery pack shows 12.89v.
so I think the battery packs are OK.
The charger out put is 18.95v.
Will try some anti corrosive spray inside of the battery hole tomorrow if that dos not do it I will strep it and clean it if I can't see a problem I will have to send it to the Minelab experts, I'm hoping its just a little dust or a pinched wire something I can do.
Thanks again. ,.

Duncan.

Well I striped it, cleaned it, tested the connections, and wires all I could. but it's still the same, so its off to Minelab with it.

That bites.... but at least once you get it back it should be good as new. VERY RARE anyone has a problem with an Exp that i know of.
