My Explorer keeps shutting off while I'm using it. Anyone have an idea what's going on?...

Doesn't give the tones like when the battery is low. Just clicks off. Then I can't get it started up for a minute or so. ?????????????????????????????????????

of using the Explorer, then it might be a heat related problem involving the internal power supply/control PCB and its' components.
Even a cracked board track could do this.
Maybe if simply turn on the detector and leave it rest down on the ground or against something for a while and see if it still turns off without it signalling you with the normal onboard audio indicator due to low battery power.
In doing this it may tell you that the problem has something to do with a heat related problem and not something that is disconnecting due to the detector be used and moving.
There is a little pcb internal to the Explorer handle that holds two springs that push up against those battery tabs on the battery pack. The connection of the wires at this point can also POSIBBLY be defective (just another possibility).
If the coil wires ever cross, due to maybe the wires contacting each other where they are NOT supposed to be (possibly inside the actual plug of the coil connectors), then it would also cause this. The other outcome due to this

turned out to have a loose terminal wire in the pigtail connector where it connects to the connector at the control box. They repalced the coil under warranty. I guess that's one good story's about K-Co. HH Ev

My EX 1 did this in the first two weeks I had it. Tried everything but ended up having to send it to Minelab. Sorry!
