My Etrac finally nets it's first gold!

Only had an hour or so to hunt this afternoon, went all over town before I finally lit on a strip of sidewalk that I knew had seen a ton of traffic. Found a few clad and was about to give up when I got a bouncy 08-13 to 10-13 signal. I thought pull tab but what the heck good get lucky. Well it ended up being a huge men's ring with a lot of sewing string wrapped around the base. Sorry no dirt clod pic got too excited when I saw ring... Lol. Because of all the string, I couldn't tell what it was. I don't recommend trying to drive and unwrap string off of a ring, but when I pulled into the driveway I could see 10K!!!!

Well done indeed :spin:
may there be many more

Great find and thanks for providing the eTrac numbers. Gold is so elusive, I wish it was easier to find with th eTrac or any detector. :)

Bet you'll keep diggin' those signals too! That's just about where the only gold ring I've found, came in.

Thanks for the pictures and the story. Congratulations on the finds.

lovely! I wonder why sewing thread?

Yesterday I threw my wedding band down and read it. it hit on a solid 12-26 repeatedly.
I guess if we want gold, do what the old timers did. Dig for it.
If you have the patience to dig every solid "could be" gold ring signal, you WILL eventually, and occasionally, find a gold ring.
the average wedding band will junk out at around a hundred dollars or more.

By the way guys, for those who haven't sold gold before, go to ARA in Dallas Texas.
They advertise, and PAY 98% of spot price. No games or BS either.

Congrats on finding the gold. Nice ring. -- Randy

Nice Gold Find! Congratulations!

to make the larger ring fit a smaller finger...

Thanks guys btw sold the ring at scrap price to my father inlaw for $96.00. He is making himself another wedding ring.

Wow, I've only found one gold wedding band in the last 5 or so years.
Great find.

Excellent Find!

Great finds, I can feel the excitement in your post,

Thx for sharing,
Moose

Moose I just about had to order some Depends(no offense to you older guys). Lol Its been several years of a drought for me. I used to find 5 or 6 a year and used them to buy my detectors. I forgot how much the thrill was to find one. Needless to say I'm gonna start pounding the lakes again. :)
