My earliest American coin found with the MXT!

Folks, I'm here to tell you this recovery that happened in August of this year was my ALL TIME favorite find!!! Keep in mind, this was found on Kansas soil, with permission of course.
There is just something about pulling an OLD silver coin from the ground that will be with me for the rest of my life. Earlier this year in February, I had posted an 1834 Capped Bust Half Dollar that I had dug. Well, in August I found another beauty. I took pictures of coin just as it was being dug and pulled out of the plug. In the first pic, this is what I saw as I layed the plug over. In the center of plug in the crack, I notice a large silver coin. I scanned my DX-1 probe over it and it gave a +90. Holy cow, I'm gunna have a heart attack!

yeah!...you loose a 50cent piece and your stuck in the dog house for a month! LOL!!! Thanks jt

NICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! too bad it has the hole in it..you would have a really nice collectible coin ...still a good collection piece !!!

Hi rockyredbaron,
I would rather it not have a hole in it but since it does, I feel the coin has a more special meaning than just a dropped 50 cent piece. The reason for the hole punch we can only speculate but someone tried NOT to loose it and failed. I wish this coin could talk, WOW...what a story it could tell. 1826! hmmm... Was Thomas Jefferson still alive? WOW!!!

Have a Merry Christmas!!!
