My dibby dab for the day minus twenty pennies..

Scrounged this and the gold bracelet up at three schools. Everywhere was just crummy with people and kids. Ain't like it used to be when you were all alone at a school on the weekends. Now you have to fight for room to detect.

I get all nervous when kids start following me nowadays. You never know when some adult is gonna make assumptions about some "strange man" talking to kids at a schoolyard.

Me to but I'm always being tailed by a herd of little kids. I usually give them all the pennies I find. Some are really cute and some are a pain in the rump.

Had a little gal about 3-4 years old latched onto me at a playground. She asked me if it was okay if she watched me. I told her she could watch all she wanted. She was there with her dad. Every time I dug a penny I gave it to her and then she would run to her dad to show him.

Three or four times her dad asked her if she was ready to go and she would reply, " Not yet dad, I want to watch Bill some more."

Then she would ask me again if it was okay for her to watch me. She was cute as a bug's ear.

It's kinda that way around here... I think the best time is
about daybreak... I go to most of the local parks around
here and usually always have a bunch of people around.
Often it's the suburban mothers taking the various offspring
to the tot lots...And thats usually the first place I want to
hit.. I won't do anything if they have a bunch of kids around..
Not that they would really bother me much, it's more that I
don't want anyone thinking I'm trying to hang around the kids,
resident pervert, etc...
I didn't get to do anything this weekend..Thought I would get a
chance, but didn't pan out.. Got a late service call saturday
just when I was going to do some, and had to go across town today
to pick up an antenna I bought a couple of weeks ago.
By the time I got done with all that it was dark..

From the land of the Bluenose....well it's like that everywhere nowadays. Time to try the woods or deserted areas. Kow what you mean....sometimes just getting out all alonewith no one around is what itsall about! Happy hunting!

Ya that's what happened to me the couple times I went to the school yard, usually they would gather in groups. Then you get the older children seeing the money coming out of the ground, next thing they all want to start digging when you get a signal. I don't mind a few nickles or quarters, but when the dig up a ring or Toonie! Where does one draw the line? Dave

Yeah that's the best part, just getting out there and enjoying the day. If gas goes to $5.00 a gallon as they are stating it's going to be tough just to get out there. May have to get me a scooter. :)

I'll toss them the pennies but that's it. I let them know anything above that is mine. If they want to tail me around I lay down the ground rules and they are pretty good about abiding by them. I've even given up on digging a coin and they'll go back to the hole and dig till they find it then bring it to me. But I let them keep it since they recovered it. Had one kid dig a hole over a foot deep to recover a quarter, then he wanted to give it to me but I declined and told him he dug it he gets it. I rarely run into snots but there are a few out there.
