my detector stand mod.

I got tired of bending down all the time and made some stands that were ridged like you see on here and for sale on ebay.but had trouble knocking it off getting in and out of the car. so I made this . with old CPVC pipe I had in the cellar. and a old hanging plant sprinkler that was broke .It clicks in different spots but wasn't strong enough to hold it up so I put a bump stop on it , As you can see in the pic's. as you can see it folds up and and keeps it out of the dirt. I used haft inch pipe because that was what I had. the CPVC is lighter than the PVC pipe. I have no cash in it . so I cant complain .

It will hold the detector up but if you happen to lean on it . it will go shut thats why I put the bump stop on.So not to fold back on the detector
I was going to use a by-pod for a gun but they were too heavy.

Wow! Very ingenious mod, Seriously the mod is so cool.

Thanks for sharing,

Thanks , Yeah the biggest reason I like a stand is for hunting in the morning ,''wet grass'' I was always getting the detector wet on the bottom. plus I dont have to bend over as far to pic it up or slip my arm in. lol ,you would think with all the detectors out there ,you could find some better options , Mine isn't the best but its free. and works well enough.

It snaps on . I cut a CPVC, T pipe at about 9.30 and 2.30 or 10.00 and 2.00 somewhere around there, and it snaps on very tight , and i put some tape around the shaft so not to scratch it up , I have been hunting with it and works great getting in and out of the car , and I thought there would be trouble with it being so long and hitting my leg ,but that s not a problem at all . and i don't have to pick it up to put my arm in it .just reach over and slide it in . I dropped it once and it just bounced a little off the ground. kind of shortened the fall ,,lol
I was going to put just one little dab of silicone on it just to hold it in place and keep it from turning and still be able to get it off ,but doesn't look like I need too. stays on very well.

I just finished my stand a few days ago and I used your design but instead of snapping on my mounts with removable shanked rivets, the snap thing was way to loose on my machine. Great idea though thanks for posting I love mine on my AT PRO and CTX 3030

Hi Bav24502 put some pics up.

The CPVC was a little smaller on the inside than the PVC pipe and fits the whites shaft better, But needs a little sanding on the inside with a dremel.

[it won't allow me to put pictures on because it says it's over 420kb
