when we were at the playground after I was done in the football field I went over to the playground and I set it along side the steps going up to the slide and my daugter was standing on the bottom step and jumped off and landed on my detector, all is not totaly lost though, I can kind of get it to stay on if I am carefull with it.

Just remember. your daughter is more important then your detector...with that said...sorry for the bad news...that stinks...hopefully you have a back up one...:nopity:

No, I do not have a back up detector, I'm thinking of maybe getting one with some of the money from my stimulas check, I am not mad at Kari, I am mad at myself for setting it where I did.

What if you found some sloid plastic, epoxied it to the outside of the broken ears driled a new hole and used a couple of rubber washers inbetween the new ears and the rod? I think you could get that to work for you as a solid solution.

if your detectors still working fine, scubadetector i think has a very good suggestion, they have some very good epoxies out there these days especially for plastics.walmart $2.50 cheap money saved me $125- on my sons car headlight bracket and i couldn't believe how well it worked,do some pre planning, and if you have some moving parts you don't wan't stuck spray lightly with wd-40,but just don't get it on the other areas, make sure you have good ventillation though!

If you still have all the broken pieces you can go to your local autoparts store and get a really good epoxy that would actually make the repair stronger than the surrounding material. Permatex and Loctite make some really excellent plastic epoxies, but you have to use them in well ventilated areas.
