My Daughter And I Shared A Wonderful Relic Hunt After Work Tonite

My 11 year old daughter and I went and did a quick one hour relic hunt along an old river that has seen human activity for about 200 years. I took along my Infinium and relic shovel. My daughter took along her imagination such as ferries and moss to be used as a carpet for her recent home made doll house. I searched with the Infinium and dug all good sounding signals. She searched with her eyes and imagination. We surely weren't disappointed. I couldn't believe what popped out in such a short time. The bedrock of the river is basically gravel, with some flour gold mixed in with the sediment.

I dug up a dental partial plate of some type. I was hoping it might be made of gold, but it wasn't. My daughter thought it was pretty ugly, and didn't want any more discussion about it. I also got what looks like a 3 ringer. I have in the past dug up musket balls, three ringers and Snyder bullets in this area.

Well, my daughters keen eyes agreed that this rock was special, and so it was. It was a nice sized piece of petrified wood! Well, into my pouch it went, along with about 1 square foot of green moss to be installed in her doll house at a later date.

I wish that these special times would last forever........... :)

Check the metal on the partial. If it's old enough it may be platinum. Years back platinum wasn't worth a dime and was used for dentures, lightning rods, and other items.

Detecting with friends and family is the best part of this hobby. Cheers to many more.
