My Ctx Tip - Turn off the backlight for extended battery life.

I have had the CTX for just over a month now. I hunt the beach at least once a day. I have found a lot of really good targets both in the water and out. This may be common sense, but I tend to lose common sense when I get excited about hunting.

My battery was lasting for three, three hour hunts. After this, I would need to recharge. Turn off the backlight and it will last three times longer! Like I said, this is common sense, but it slipped my mind.

Something doesn't sound quite right....... I have my backlight on all the time and I get well over 20 hours of hunting time. Modern displays just don't use all that much power. I think a call to Minelab might be in order.

You have a bad battery or using it without headphones? Someone told me or I read it is designed to last a long time even with GPS on.
I have hunted with light on at least 6 hours and the bar barely moved off full.

I am using headphones. I could be off on my times though. I tend to lose track of time when hunting. I wonder if certain option drain the battery faster?
