You may want to allow for a bit of assembly time. I could take mine apart and put together in 10 min now but I think it took +30 when I first got it. You know being careful and not familiar with everything and having to unpack the box inspect for damage etc.
Also the Battery pack and wireless will need to be charged. Mine came with the batteries partially charged but it took ~1-2 hours for a complete charge. Alternatively you could use the Alkaline battery pod and plug the headphones straight into the machine if you don't have time to fully charge the wireless. Again they come with some charge and you might be able to use but I think it's recommended to fully charge first.
I might try one of the stock programs to start depending on the ground mineralization and trash level. High trash is also suited for highly mineralized sites (FYI remember halves and dollars fall on the 1 line in High trash Mode). Or the stock coins program. I would use a fair bit of dis to start cause the machine is going to give a lot of signals in the trashy park. If you can get into the tone profile you could try the combine tones as mentioned. I also like smooth on the signal response makes targets pop and even better in 50 conductive than say combine but I work in combine mostly and cross check and sometimes hunt in a two tone ferrous profile. For some reason the TTF seems quicker and less prone to iron false. May be due to the machine having to process the signal less with only two tones but that is a guess.
Not sure on this with the newer machines but I had to update mine on the pinpoint hold and saltwater setting. If not updated you will have to hold the pinpoint button in when doing that.
Not trying to rain on your plans but I was in the same boat having read all I could and watched the videos and all I can say is it took me a while to get mine together and out of the house. Then in the field it was like whats this button for? Even so I was detecting with it the first day and found some clad. By the way as others have said if it sounds good and is repeatable and on the 12 line it's probably good. One way signals with good #'s are usually bad -- 2 way signals I dig but can be false iron. It the target disappears on a 90deg turn it's prob false iron. It the target shifts on pinpointing it's prob a nail. Nails can give a good signal on the outer edge of the coil. I still dig some iffy signals and more turn out to be junk thank good stuff but if the bad is masking good you need to check.
