My cousin's latest cache.:clapping:

Must be nice to have all these silver coins buried in your own back yard.:clapping: This is my cousin's fourth cache that he has found on his property and I'm sure there is more to come. His finds were 76 merc dimes and 7 barber dimes. Oldest merc was a 1916s and oldest barber was a 1897. What we all wouldn't do to have a backyard like his. Thanks for looking and HH.

Eddie

That's really cool what were in the other four? I must have missed those. Thank's for sharing.
Good hunting Gary

Hi Gary. I only posted one of the other caches that my cousin found and it was over 180 plus silver coins which included silver dollars, halves, quarters, dimes and some nickles. I have posted the picture for you to enjoy and others who may have not seen it before. His other cache finds before this last one were two other merc dime caches. HH.

I think I would soil my short's finding something like that. Is there a story behind the caches'? Does anybody have any theory's on who put them there? WOW!
Good hunting,Gary

Congrats to your cousin Eddie. :clapping:
Finding burried coins like that in
your back yard is something most
of us dream about. Thanks for sharing.

I agree that it's something we all dream about. When my cousin sent me the pictures I called him right away to congratulate him. I also told him that the next time he moves anymore dirt around on his property to give me a call and I would be happy to help him recover some more old coins. I have no doubt that there are more coins buried there someplace.

I think I would be crapping my pants also Gary. The story I got from my cousin is that the old guy who homesteaded on this property didn't trust banks and hid his money in socks and fruit jars and buried them all over the property. Before my cousin bought this property and after the old guy who lived there passed away some guys snuck in there and started tearing the old house apart evidently looking for hidden monies. When my cousin bought it he started doing some clearing to set up his manufactured home. He was moving some old stumps around, burning brush and etc and knocked down the old barn that was there. One day he walked out in the field and looked down and that's when he saw a silver dollar staring back at him. Gene grabbed his detector and the coins started popping up all over the place. He found one cache of dimes where the old barn use to be and after moving some more dirt around that's when he found the last cache of dimes that I posted. Anyway Gary, that's the story I was told and wouldn't we all like to have a backyard like that.:clapping: HH.

Eddie, that's a good story. Back in the day that's how a lot of the old timer's did it. Thanks for the story.
Gary

After my cousin scapped the ground with his tractor blade he said most of the dimes were in about a 12 inch radius and about 12 inches deep.

Eddie

OK, I'm totally jealous. I have to go pretty far these days to find any silver. I can't imagine finding all those goodies in my own yard! Great stuff!
