My Compadre and Me outing #4

I went to a little park that I have not hit this year. It is a small, trashy, old, one of those neighborhood parks. I just couldn't crank up the disc to make it easier to go through. It just doesn't seem right to crank up the disc now. There was a lot of holes and signs that someone was there. So this is what someone missed and I probably missed as much or more. I went for 2 hours and had to call it a day. But I am looking forward to tomorrows hunt already.
Thanks for looking in and Happy Trails.....Z

That's a neat looking bottle cap opener.:) It won't be long now before you'll be posting pictures of your gold jewelry find.

It seems that you are taken with the Compadre. It's so simple and fun to use, but it's deadly at finding good stuff that others leave behind.:detecting:

And another very nice Compadre outting! About $1.50 per hour. Remember working to get paid for less than that? Hope you soon find that little bit of gold under that 5.75 inch coil!

Tabman I don't know if I should say this or not because this is only my 4th day with the Compadre. It is one fun detector. It is a different kind of hunting. No pressure to get lots of coins, more than yesterday and have thousands for the summer. I just kind of tool around and dig almost everything. Even keeping the foil in so I don't pass something good up. It is a surprise on every dig. That is good. Every park I have ever detected I can go back and find all kind of things I have passed up.

Thanks CO. I really never knew how much neat things I have been passing up. I guess I am just out there detecting for the fun of it?

tvr never count the amount of the coins. Just count the number of coins. I seem to be seeing detecting in a new way using the Compadre. Targets are much more interesting. There is a mystery to each target. I don't know until I dig the thing. I kind of hope this new way of detecting stays with me for a long time.

I am looking forward to my next hunt. Happy Trails.......Z

The essence of casual, turn on and go detecting.
Can't beat it. I'm wanting to get that Cibola more and more....

Thats a nice haul! :clapping:

Evaluating your trash targets...I'm feeling a big gold chain for you soon...try to imagine where one might be lost, then its simply a matter of going over there and picking it up!
Mud

Yeah, it's obvious he's a Digger by looking at the trash.
Diggers are the ones that get the gold, because they do more than merely they detect... They recover.

And that what it's all about.

Dahut: The Cibola was my first choice but than I wanted a 5.75" coil. So I am looking at a $300 plus price for a detector that I may not even like? I may not like beep and dig thing? I am retired and budget is the name of the came. Your right I go from dirt to chips to sand without adjusting anything. I just detect. No buttons, one knob. Simple..
By the way Dahut welcome back.....

Mud I tried that method sometime back but all it got me was locked up in a secure ward for a few days.... Mud I am having fun detecting. This little Compadre is so dirty in four days. I have been digging in really wet conditions and it just means muddy digs. I put a baggy on the control box (it is small) and I am ready for rain. I really find strange things that I never knew were there.
Thanks guys......Z

Cool, cool.
You get what you can, right, and make the most of it?

Me, I work within budget contraints, too. Mine are mostly self imposed, as I cant see spending TOO much on ahobby. But, I circumvent the constraints to a degree by buying used. I have had one box-new detector in over 20 years around the hobby, a Tesoro Silver Sabre II.
Should I get a Cibola, I'll keep at it until I can get a good used one. The cost is usually lower this way and so I can add in the sniper coil and not bust the bank. And because its a Tesoro, buying used is much less of a gamble.

Being a kind of tech-geek, however, I prefer to have some adjustable features. After 2o years and trying about every detector I could lay my hands on, I might not mess with the controls much... but they are there if I want to and I know why they are working. Thats just a me thing and I am willing to save and work to pull the extra money together to get some 'knobbery.'
In the end the Cib or the Compadre will do the same things for tot lot and casual searches. I just like the extra gadgetry of the Cib.

And thanks for the welcome. Its nice to be remembered...

thats a lot of goods in a small park , looks like a nice spot to hunt

Dahut: Just finished hunt #5 today and will be posting. Your probably right to pick the Cibola. It gives you control over the Sens. I saw a youtube video with air test on Compadre and it didn't get much over 6" mark. So I figured that was deep enough for me. But I am finding targets over 6" more than I care to. But a strange thing is happening. I am digging the deeper stuff and really don't care if it is a pull tab, caps. It sure is different than the way I have been hunting. Still good with me....

Gunnar: I have hunted this park for a few years a couple times a year and it always gives up some nice numbers in coins. It is trashy that is why some guys don't touch it? Did you ever get your detector back after all these months?? Enjoy your videos and thanks for doing them.... Z
