New batteries. Picked up 1941 nickle and circle with a star that has a little blue stone in it. It is an interesting find. Thought the dog was 925 but not marked. It was fun but It took a lot out of the kid. Came home exhausted. May take a few days off.. Thanks for looking.....Z

Man , my old body just aches seeing all that digging you've done but that's how to get to the good stuff .

Way to go on the War Nickel! If you ever get your search coil over some gold jewelry it's yours.

I used to go till I nearly dropped at a really fast pace for very long periods of time, but now I've learned to slow down and hunt shorter periods of time.

It's time to go home when you lose your concentration and start to get sloppy in your technique.

This method has put more good stuff in my find's pouch and I'm not so sore anymore.:)

Thanks guys.
It was my 2nd beach hunt. It wasn't the digging so much. The scoop weighs about 5 pounds and the walking and walking and walking. The sand had big groves from the front end loaders that were running on the beach to take down the bleachers for the volley ball games.

The dog it looks like good quality. Thought it might be a charm from a bracelet? Shows you what I know?

Dirt doctor the compadre just kind of makes me want to dig everything. As I am swinging and it beeps, it says there is something there but!!! It's up to you now??? I am a sucker and just start digging. I don't seem to care that it was a bottle cap or foil or iron or???? I just move on. Strange way to hunt?

Tabman you are talking about the symptoms that I am experiencing. My swings are slower and I walk slower and I am sure digging more. When I start passing up targets. It is time to shut the hunt down and go home. I am too tired to do a good hunt. I am going home with much less coins and a lot of different things that I have never found before. Granted they usually aren't much good but I found them and that is what counts. I don't know if this is just the newness of hunting like this? I hope the feeling kind of sticks around for a lot longer. It was fun and looking forward to doing it again.....Z

when i get into the trashy spots , I just stay on the ground and don't bother getting up , I just creep along , hopefully that big gold ring will show up soon

Now that's just way too funny. I can see you crawling along with just a pin-pointer.

Hot Damn! :surprised: Thats some work! :clapping: For you Teeboys that dont know Zeek, he's 113 yrs old in August...an inspiration and somebody to pattern if you want to be successful..just try digging half the amount, at half his age!...Hell, I know some people 75yrs his junior that cant put on their own socks without assistance! Crack a beer Z!, kick back in your recliner and watch the Tour De France, its soothing, and will put you right to sleep! You cannot take "a few days off", its peak season ya know, and you dont have many of those left, so buck up, bite your lip, and hit it!...anybody that can work that expanse of sand is in shape I tell you, or will be shortly, no matter what the age.
Mud

Mud, are you serious about Z's age? If that is the case I tip my hat to that man! I'd be happy making it half that age!

Rainyday , your not falling victim to Mud's incredible sense of humor are you ?:rofl:Zeekey's a respectable 73 years of age which may be 113 in metal detecting years but that won't get him a letter from the President or a free gold plated detector. How do I know this , I snooped in his previous posts .

Yeah, I was taking minor liberties with the truth, still, I've been chasing Zeek for 4yrs now, trying to duplicate and pattern his settings and methodology regarding all matters metals, mankind and marriage its made me a better hunter, human, husband trying to keep up.......I would not discount the notion that he might get a letter from the President someday...If he does, I'm sure it will be a notice that his SS is henceforth cancelled, on account of all the danged loot he finds every year puts him in the top .001 income bracket!:beers:
Mud

Mud is kind of off by a few years. I really didn't know I was old until I was 66. I never had a clue. My success for old age is to have 3 recliners and glass of brandy every night. After 7 PM I am usually sleeping in one of my recliners a practice nap preparing me for a nights sleep. Mud I fall asleep watching midget wrestling.

Gunner the ring your looking for was found yesterday so get up and have another beer. My next post is about detecting in trash areas.

Rainyday if you listen to Mud you could get into a lot of trouble? I think its the mushrooms?

The only letter I would get from the president would be that government paid me to much while I was in the service over 50 years ago and I am now obligated to spend 15 year in the reserve to make up for the over payment.

Thanks for enjoyable replies and Happy Trails.......Z

Dam Mud, I should have known better!

Z I am not at the 7 oclock pre-nap stage yet! Getting closer everyday though.
