My fellow treasure hunters-

In my May I had an opportunity with a buddy of mine to search an old homestead in the western part of Virginia, that dates to 1702. Since that time, we have dug numerous large cents, civil war bullets, buttons and silver coins including 1 Spanish reale. I also dug a 1798 cap bust, my oldest coin to date. I wrote a feature article story about those finds and attached pictures which was recently approved and published in the January 2012 edition of W&E Treasures. My third article will be published in the spring 2012. I would encourage everyone to submit quality articles for the metal detecting viewing community. Everyone of us has a story to tell about this great hobby of ours, and you get paid for sharing your story with the reading community! :)

Best-

Wayne those are some great finds. I suppose you are charging for your autograph? Great detecting Wayne. HH....Z

You got bragging rights with those finds!!! ..hh rick in mi,

I've already experienced first hand what a article in a treasure mag does to a site, which in this cased ruined it for everybody.
I'll keep my stories to myself.

Good job................

Mike: I totally agree, can get out of hand very fast, gets everyone banned, will loose a friend (the owner that gave you permission), may get other sites in the community closed to detecting.

Our sport IS a little different than other pursuit oriented activities, you relic/old silver guys know that once a sites been worked, great finds like this are not replenished. What are you gonna do? Getting an article published with PAYMENT for it is very cool. It is inspirational/educational to read these articles. We are all in a race against each other, the weather, and TIME. Good for you on beating the three, and giving us hope that it can be done!:clapping:

Good point, Mike. But stories can be told so as not to reveal the location of the site. I've noticed that a lot of articles are carefully worded (and carefully photographed) so as not to reveal any clues.

Congrats on being a published author, Wayne.
