I have been using this old teknetics coin computer for 2 years now, i bought it cheap as a non worker as the battery connections were corroded as usual with these super snazzy detectors. Easy fix, just solder a whites battery pack with positive and negative from the battery pack soldered to positive and negative inside the battery compartment of the teknetics. 10 minute job. The dealer wanted rid so i got it very cheap. The detector also has a 9v battery inside this is fixed inside and can be removed pretty easy just by un -taping the whites battery pack. The battery life is good now - very good. Looks weird i know but at least the old coin computer is back in service again and finding coins after 20 odd years. I love some of the older classics including the compass challenger of which i have 2.
