My cancer

Low-Boy/LCPM

Active member
I was called by Stanford today so they can do a bone marrow transplant. They only do about 300 a year and there was only one treatment that will help save me. So I am really lucky that I was chosen to have this transplant before my cancer took over and there would be nothing else anyone could do. My sister was a match! I have been fighting this cancer for over five years. I will be gone for about 100 days till I can return home and then it may be another six months till I can start to look for history again with my metal detector. I have a few videos that I will be trying to make while I am at Stanford when I can find the engergy to work on them and hope to post them here. I love this forum and all the great hunters that have been so helpful with sharing their knowledge and finds with all of us. I hope to come back and return to a normal life and hunt for years to come. It will be part of my healing to read this forum each day and live through your finds and hunts.

Hey man my prayers are with you. If there is anything you need speak up and I'll see what I can do and I believe there are a ton of other who feel the same. All any of us can do is fight the good fight and leave it in the good Lord's hands.
You are a good man Lawrenzo!

Dear Low-Boy,

I think it's wonderful that you have have been chosen for this operation. While it may keep you out of the field for a bit, I'm sure it will really payoff in the long run. Sounds like you have a real special sister too!

Use your down time wisely.. perhaps you can do a bit of historical research for some promising metal detecting sites, read up on the latest treasure hunting technologies, or heck - even learn a foreign language! Just stay as positive as you can and before you know it, you'll be back - better than ever!

Hoping all goes well and looking forward to watching many more of your fun and informative videos,

Godspeed Low Boy. You're in our thoughts and prayers. Take it one day at a time but keep thinking about getting out and having some fun when you are ready. John

Hang in there LB. My best friend is starting his bone marrow transplant later this month too. A positive attitude will see you through and you'll be treated at one of the best facilities in the world. I'll be pulling for you and maybe I can post a decent find or two for you.
Mike
