My C$ doesn't like rechargeables

Was running low on battery so switched to my radio shack rechareable nickel-metal-hydride batts. After a minute or 2 my machine started making a hell of a lot of beeps. I assume it was the warning of low batteries. The rechargeables were fully charged. Switched to alkaline batts and everything was fine. Can anyone tell me what the problem was?

I ran the rechargeable cad batts in mine and a fully charged set would last about 2 hours with headphones. I had extra sets so I just stopped and switched them out.

You may think they were fully charged but it may be possible they were not???

9 volt rechargeables just don't work well or last very long in Fisher units and I have tried several brands. Over the years saw this come up on Fisher forums and most said the same thing. In your case one of the rechargeables cells may have gone bad or perhaps indeed the were not sufficiently charged..Certainly no electronic wizard but units that use double AA rechargeables have much better luck and I don't have a prayer why...I just use a high quality alkaline 9 volt and they serve me well..and gave up trying rechargeable 9 volts as the hunt time is about 1/10 th of a good alkaline which equates to several hours and take a long time to recharge..

When I turned the machine on it had a reading of 8 volts. It had been a few days since I charged them so they may have lost some voltage during that time. I assumed 8 volts would last awhile.
Rather then buy more rechareables I think I will just do what Dan does and use the regular batts.
Thanks all.
