Nice day for a hunt! A little cool, jacket weather and even some sunny periods. Headed off too an old part of Edmonton to hunt some woods and then an old pic-nic area. We got a nice assortment of finds.

Here's an old tobacco tin dug up...not in very good shape. The pic on the right is what it is supposed to look like. It's a circa: early 1900's, Manufacturer: made in Montreal by Imperial Tobacco Company Canada. The tin box, shows a RCMP Officer on a horse.

Found an old butter knife or letter opener. It was covered with a thick layer of black oxide. I had to use a wire brush and about 30 minutes with my ultra-sonic cleaner to get it up to it's current condition. The earring looks like it is probably gold. The ear shank is missing, the piece that usually has the gold % stamped on it. And also dug up a nice sized slug. Gonna sleep real good tonite!

Looks like you guys had a fun hunt John.
Some of that old stuff is fun to find and do the research on it. A lot of good history..

I would call that a good day. I like finding it all like that too.
