He worked hard looking for pirate treasure that he was sure was there. dad ...inadvertently dropped some treasure which he found. It was very exciting to see his face thought I would share. Anybody else have kids which are into detecting? click on images for larger version.

My kids used to detect...but now they are older it's not "cool" anymore. Maybe when they get older still it will become ok again...it doesn't worry me, I still enjoy it.

That is a great pic!! I bet his face really lit up when finding something!! My kids are ,also, older. They think my wife and I are alittle weird when it comes to detecting. Doesn't bother us a bit!!

Thank you for all the great replies. Me and my buddy are making a pirate map and a real pirates chest ( http://www.binkyswoodworking.com/PiratesChest.php) to bury on the beach and have him discover it with the x-terra. Man I may never get to use my detector after that.

He loves going out with Dad and prospecting, but i think he likes detecting better, my wife thinks we are both nuts. Her comment around panning " I can wash dirt at home, thank you" lol god I love her
