My Best Ring of 2006

Treasure Mike

I saved my best jewelry find for the year to post now since the year is about over and I doubt i will surpass it this year. I Found this men's half carat diamond ring last July near the men's rest room at a Seattle park. It was in the grass at about two inches deep and registered at about 26 on the MXT's VDI meter. I took it to a gem shop and it tested positive as a diamond. Jeweler there said it would retail for around $1000.00. The two crucifixes and the 3 gram 10 K kid's gold bracelet were found this week at wood chip play areas. As you can see the bracelet's clasp is broken on one end. Most chains I find are usually like that. Thanks for looking- Hope you all enjoy the pictures of my finds as much as I enjoy posting them. Mike

Those are some exceptionally good pieces of jewelry! That ring is AWESOME! GREAT FINDS!!!

Hi Mike,

For a long time I have been thinking about asking if you enjoyed posting your finds as much as I enjoy reading about and viewing your finds. BTW, all the finds in this post are great. However, the ring is awesome.

Thanks for all of your posts,
Bob

Nice finds. Can you please tell me the rules about MD in Seattle Parks? I get to Seattle several times a year to visit my mother-in-law...it would be nice to have the opportunity to get out of the house and MD while I was there. Thanks,

Steve

To the best of my knowledge there are no rules restricting the use of a metal detector in the City of Seattle. I do know that you need a permit to hunt with a detector in State Parks which can be obtained from the park ranger. There are also restrictions at state parks on the type of digging tools you can use and what types of finds you can keep and what ones must be turned into the ranger. I have been metal detecting for about two years and have never been approached by any authorities about using my metal detector anywhere. I hope this helps. Mike
