My best jewelry find of the year, so far...

Beach hunt this past Sunday. Wasn't finding much of interest, just modern coins. Then, I get a real solid 12-03 signal. I mean it was tagged and the cursor was solid red. My first thought was one of the inner foil tops to a number of the different juice drinks. So, I moved some sand around with my foot and saw what appeared to be a part of a chain. Bent down picked up the chain and it kept coming out of the sand for 10 inches. On the bottom was a cross with what looked like sapphires, a diamond in the center and small chips of diamonds all around the outside of the cross. It was pretty heavy, but until I saw some markings on it, I wasn't jumping around just yet. First I looked at the chain...it was marked AU750...Woo Hoo 18k white gold. The cross had no markings. I tested the cross with my gold tester at home and it tested 14k white gold. Woo Hoo! Last but not least, I tested the center diamond. It tested real! Double Woo Hoo! Total weight for the chain and pendant was 36.7 grams. I took the chain and pendant to my jeweler to get an evaluation. He did his testing and offered me $1000.00 on the spot. I said no thanks. We discussed the possible retail value of the item, and he thought around the $2500.00 to $3000.00 range. To say the VERY LEAST, my day was outstanding!!!

Bet you've been walking around in a daze! That's amazing, enjoy your amazing find!

That's a beautiful find unearth! I'm guessing it'll remain your "best jewelry find of the year", it would be a tough one to top.
