My best hunt ever...

pizzacoil

New member
Hunted with the GTI 2500 in coin mode all day, with the stock coil. 4 1/2 hours work.

I've developed an infatuation with Large Cents, and sure enough, out popped one about an hour and half into the hunt. The rest was a rollercoaster ride...

I will post pics of the finds once they are cleaned.

Thanks for looking, and happy hunting!

Man, I can only dream about finding a Morgan. YOu never know, I hunt old sites as they come up. The other coins are great too. I think that is the end of a buckle. Once agai, you the man:thumbup:

Thanks for looking, for your comments, and happy hunting!

Make those swings count!

You mopped up on that one..
I like that button..
Those are hard to find around these
parts. Not near as much soldier
activity as the northeast part of the
country had. That looks to be an "I"
maybe in the middle..?? Wonder what
that stands for.. maybe infantry??

Step-by-step instructions on electrolysis at:

http://gometaldetecting.com/electrolysis_cleaning.htm

Warning: Older copper coins will often have what little detail is left on a "crust" that will seperate from the coin when submitted to electrolysis. This will leave you only with a copper disc devoid of any features.

On silver, electrolysis works very well; follow it up by using Wright's Silver Polish, and/or toothpaste.
