My Ace was smokin' today!

slingshot

I started out dismayed because school in my town was out-but not in my favorite town 20 minutes away. I had to search a tab-infested park. So I put the Ace in coins mode and the next thing you know I had almost $4 in quarters-I was mad at myself because I wasn't expecting all this so I was just sticking the money in my pouch with finds from another day-in other words I didn't keep count. The coins just kept comin'! I started to move to another park and on the way YES! they were letting school out at noon. I quickly pulled in and started. All I can tell you is that I have over $20 in coins and approximately $12 is quarters-the pouch got so heavy it was pulling my pants down! And pinpointing? Come on folks. All you have do is lift the coil about 6-12 inches off the ground, hit the pinpoint and nail it in the air. I was dropping my screwdriver right on top of the coins! And the troublesome ones? Just quickly tap the pinpoint to make it fainter-sometimes you have to lower the coil when you do this. And you can do this with the 150, too. Just "x" it up in the air where the signal is faint. And if you're still not happy-I'll pay the postage for you to send it to me! I also won a digital camera at a local golf tournament last week, so I'll try to put these coins aside and send pics. Keep them Ace's smoking!

Looks like you must be the first one to:detecting: there. Love to find a place like that. :clapping:

Almost forgot to mention. If you didn't read Bill's reprint of an article on sweeping your coil a few sweeps First, THEN moving forward-that's how you HAD to do it 25-30 years ago with the TR's andBFO's (I know-I'm telling my age) or you didn't find much. It's a timeless article and was also one of the reasons for my lucky day, today. It will become a habit after a few days and stick with you for the rest of your life.

It's a regularly searched school. The catch is- it is about 3-4 football fields of an area! And the trash has been recovered by ME and some other beep-diggers. So, I just got in my competition hunt mode-and with the overlapping as in Bill's article I kinda looked like a duck waddlin'! But I was in relic mode and goin' at it as if I were in a hunt-I was smoking! I had the sensitivity at 5 and knew from you guys that the Ace is no slouch at higher sweep sweeps. I am considering it as a competition hunt machine and was practicing and havin' fun. Sometimes I would just pinpoint with the coil in motion and other times I would automatically raise the coil high and hit the pinpoint button. Most of the other searchers here take the easy route and just search the playgrounds where the swings are and leave the rest of the school grounds to whoever wants to deal with all the real estate that's left. It's my favorite place. I found my personal record there-8 quarters in one hole. It was with the GTA 350- it lied. It showed the cursor at just below the $ mark and it was $2.:crylol:

Yeah somewhere I have an article about the guys who hunt the obvious spots and the guys like you who hunt the other spots. You had quite a day. Good going. I hunted a football field awhile back where the field itself had been ripped pretty good by other beeper swingers but the area across the oval track at one end of the field where a bunch of equipment was stacked hadn't been touched. I pulled close to seven dollars out of that spot.

OK. I just won this digital camera, I'm reading the instructions, and I'm NOT a nerd-so I'm hoping to have it going soon. Went back to another favorite school across the town, but only found about $4-5 dollars this time. In case ya'll haven't guessed, school's out and I can hunt during the weekdays-FINALLY! But only on my days off. It's gonna wear off in about a couple of weeks-Maybe-there's sooo much real estate to cover. One good thing about it, I get to practice just as if I were in a competition hunt. I'm gonna try to get pictures of the schools. The sad part is I went to two of my other favorites and they have FENCED in the schools and locked them up.

Sounds like a terrific hunt slingshot! That's a great total on US coins. I'm glad that you are enjoying the Ace. top little machine.
Mick Evans.
