My 9-year old's first extended outing

My two sons are the ones who talked me into getting a metal detector to "search for treasure". My youngest one is now starting to show interest in going out himself. I wanted to practice retrieving targets with a screwdriver so I let him do the detecting while I dug. He managed to find 66 cents and a pin before the gnats got too bad for him. He was very excited. I'm not sure how someone would have gotten this pin and it's clearly not old. Interesting nevertheless.

sounds like a good time ,

What a great bonding experience. I took my 6 year old nephew to a playground near his house. He lasted about 20 minutes, and we found 22 cents, but it was a start (and 15 minutes longer than I thought he would make it!). He loves my pinpointer!
