First Texas returned my B H 505 today Corrective action was taken Replaced coil, and recalibrate inspected and tested your unit is now in good working condition
I too had a great experience with First Texas. I sent in my Sharp Shooter II and the put in a new board or something and got it right back to me. Thumbs up to First Texas. HH. Matt
I also had a good experience with First Texas. My Pioneer 505 was giving false signals using the 8" search coil that came with it. I tried everything but couldn't get it to stabilize. Finally I put it away because I was so frustrated with it. A year latter (early this summer) I brought it back out to try again. Still no success getting it to stabilize. I read in a forum that false signaling could be caused by multiple targets or lots of trash in the ground and that the 4" coil was better for trashy areas. So I ordered one. I got it in, put it on and started finding things right away. This made me suspect that the 8" coil was defective. So I called First Texas and spoke to a tech representative. The tech rep agreed with me. He said yes, I should have been able to at least found something with the 8" coil. He gave me RMA number and told me to send the coil in for testing. A week latter I received call from First Texas confirming that the coil was bad and new one that tested good was sent to replace it. Since then, I haven't had any more problems. The people at First Texas were great in handling this warranty issue. If I ever upgrade my next detector will be another Bounty Hunter or a Fisher.
