WTG Frank. Strange coincidence, I also found my first silver with my 3500 earlier that day. I found a St Christopher pendant made of .925 sterling.

Walt, it was the good Karma of you sharing your 1st silver find with me that helped with mine!!

It was just below the surface of the wood chips in the playground. :detecting:

Rang in like a screw cap......forgot the numbers though.......was too excited!!!!!! :yikes:

HH y'all.

The St Christopher pendant was located below and next to a pulltab. But I kept getting two separate but distinct signals, so I had to trust my gut feeling and go with what the 3500 was telling me. I used my plug popper, dug the plug, and checked the hole. Both signals were gone, so I checked the plug and both signals were present. The pulltab was located in the roots of the grass and the pendant was located 4" below it and about 2" to the side. The reading on the pendant fluctuated between a 94 and a 101, the pointer fluctuated between a dime and a quarter.

Way to go Walt! I'm not so sure I would have made that call.......newbie inexperience and all! LOL

A saying of mine when metal detecting.... if in doubt, dig it out.
