My 1st Seated Liberty Dime (1839 O)

I got out yesterday and detected a new house that was built in the mid 1800's. I have been looking at this house for more than a two years and decided to ask for permission and was given the go ahead. I got my first two coins (1941 Wheat, 1945P War Nickel) within five feet of the front house steps. I then decided to work around the large oak tree that was about 100 feet from the front of the house and within a minute I got a good target that was only an inch down. I had found my first Seated Dime (1839) with an O mint mark. What a good time and I do have permission to go back. Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting.

You hit pay dirt! That seated dime is a fantastic find.

Which detector was you using?

tabman

tabman, I was using the F75SE with the small five inch round coil. I dug the other two coins at about six inch's.

Excellent save of the Seated. They don't come along all that often and that one looks nice. Good job! HH jim tn

Great finds and permission to go back! Can't beat a combo like that!:clapping:

Congratulations Keith! Thas a beauty and really old...:clapping: Funny how shallow it was...tree must have pushed it up or something, a guy just never knows huh?

Good deal Keith! Finding an old silver sure makes the day brighter.

Congrats! That dime is one sweeeeet find! I guess it pays to stop and ask for permission for hunt. I have been eyeballing a few of those places for years now.

Awlsome find,
