My 1st Indian/lost pro pointer

Tried a new spot deep in woods with lots History behind it and snagged a Indian penny.I got lost for 2 hours in the woods and with all the sliding, ducking, and walking I did somehow the pro pointer slipped off and shes gone forever just like the wind.Theres no way of retracking my steps.I never really got to metal detect but its all good, Someone will might find it and make his day.I am going to customize my new one with a splash of color, wish it had a gps on it.

Heres my 1st Indian well worth being lost.

Nice find and I always use a GPS! you can even track your foot steps.

In stead of painting your next Pro Pointer try a lanyard. If you paint it, try a High Quality glow in the dark paint. Bought some for my daughter and she loves it. A black-light bulb makes it glow like crazy and regular light is absorbed and makes it glow for a little while. Be good for finding it in the dark, shine a light, turn it off and look for the glow.


I use a Garmin Etrex 10 I bought off ebay for $65. It will keep track of where you have been and help you backtrack. You can also mark your finds or spots and upload them to Google Earth.

The lanyard is good idea but i would have to customize a small hole on the pointer.I am going buy a gps now.thank you

They make a lanyard and a ring that goes between the battery cover and the pinpointer. Pm me, I'll let you know where I saw it. Nice IH Penny btw. Joe

Bummer about the pointer, love the I.H. ! I have only found a few up here in Canada and they are special to me.

There are lanyard rings for sale that fit between the end cap and pro pointer body and a part to attach the lanyard stick out. Saw them on ebay for between 10 and 14 dollars. The guy selling them says it doesn't interfer with the water tight o ring. Found one on ebay, $15.95.
