My 1st CTX Outing...

Hello ALL !!

Well it was a long wait to get my CTX 3030, but it did arrive and was assembled, battries charges, and I learned enough to get a combined program setup....

A little background... I come from the E-Trac and have been detecting for 4 years now... I hunt a mix of greens, cellar holes, older parks, and get into the water with my DF PI....

So last night it was misting to a slight drizzle... It had been raining for the last 24-30 hours....

I hit a park I call Indian park... The old dirt section is approx. 200X75... but this section has yielded (in the last 2 years), 45+ Indian Heads, 10+ Barber Dimes, a Seated Love Token (1875 Dime), an 1856 Seated Quarter, 3 Large Cents, many many Wheaties... Buttons, Relics, etc....

The last 3-4 hunts there with the E-Trac... not so much :-( I felt like I got most of the stuff...

Let me also say that at one end of this old park is a package store and the other end... some shady complexes... This park has a GAZILLION scew caps (all modern) from the last decade... People walking by me all night back and forth and drinking on the way... Caps caps... caps and did I memtion CAPS... they ring from 28 up to 42 for the larger ones.... That being said... I know those are masking more targets, but I don't think if I hunted there all season I could get them all :)

So to the hunt...

It was wet and dirty... I got my new 3030 DIRTY :-( but on to the hunt... 1st target... Screw cap... 2nd target... sq. piece of brass....

3rd Signal... 10/33 11/34... a little jumpy but a traget @ 5"

1900 Indian Head Penny...

15 foot away and 15-20 minutes later... 10/34 10/35 3-4"...

1898 Indian Head Penny...

I did recover a few deep Wheatles... a 1920, and 2 1942's... Lots of scew caps... and I dug almost everything just to get a feel for the 3030...

I was putting the machine away and thought... I never once thought about the weight :)

Would I have found thouse Indians with my E-Trac ?? Well I know I've been over those spots many times, but at what angle, how was the soil ?? I think the 7-9" wheaties were picked out nicly by the 3030 and were still not bang bang signals, but I knew they were good targets...

I can't wait to get back out to some more of my old haughts to see what lies in wait for recovery :)

Respectfully
Paul

Nice hunt Paul, the 3030 is a winner. I've been having a ball with mine, and I'm sure we will see a TON of finds from you this summer!

Congrats on the Indian:twodetecting::minelab::cheers:
