after 4 years of searchig in the woods, and finding lots of shot shells and lots of slugs, i finnaly found a good target , less than 3" deep it gave a high tone , I did not have my camera or my pinponter i had given up on somthing good coming out at 1st I figured it was a zinc penny then i figured it was a canadian then i brushed some dirt off and seen Good for and Minn on the back , you know my saying has been I have not found one red cent in this woods, and i dont know why I still hunt it , maybe because its spring and its the best time of the year , and I do not have a car so I guess this was my only choice so finnaly i found somthing worth 1 cent but to me this is better than a silver coin its old , and in great shape . out in the middle of the woods. now if this is thear so could a 20$ gold coin i also found a deer tick but am taking precaustions by tucking pants into socks and shirt into pants it pays to be patient. and when i got home paul called thats the guy who bought my badd Infinium he gave me 300.00 extra so i got my money back on that deal may God bless paul. for that Its better to travle the rocky road 1st that way you are thankfull for the road when it gets paved , unlike the deval sho was born into perfection and then fell If i found silver coins every day and tokens i would be so spoiled this way i am really blessed and I am this is a nice find now its time to look up who C.H nelson was in princeton , that town is 12 miles west of me .

BY THE WAY I CLEANED IT WITH HOT HIGHDROGEN PEROXIDE , ONLY LET IT WIT 20 SECONDS THEN BRUSHED WITH A SOFT BRISTLE TOOTH BRUSH

Gunnar that token is a beauty! Super nice find! Your patients has finally paid off. Proud of you man. Who would of ever thought way out in the middle of the woods..... Was this token anywhere near the shells?

Yes jim i dug the shells in the picture with this find in the immediat earea and very close to the token was some wire not barbed and this was 2 feet from the wire it was a nice high tone to high for a shot shell and it was right all the shot shells have a lower tone sometimes a big slug gets a high tone you know its like you say the guy took out his hanky to blow his nose and out went the token, I feel like I have been barren for so long this is nice .

Where there is one, there is the good possibility of more. (not neccessarily in tokens either) The coins I found a few days ago ( the two wheats and the barber dime) they were all relatively close to each other. Certainly get back there and perform some gridding of the area. Once again, great find!

Gunnar,
I did a quick search for your token and couldn't find one. There are similar on ebay but not the same. Are you familiar with the history?
I like finding old tokens. They aren't very valuable in most cases but they are unique none the less..
However, I doubt Minelab is going to carry your story "4 years and first penny", it just doesn't sell detectors....lol
Nice find!
Ran

ism i do not know the history it was just a store in princeton jim found an newpaper add for me they sold clothes. really its the spot , that makes a detector look good , I note they dont show all the pull tabs in the minlab adds, and ya I agree its not significant for a minelabe story .

Nice find gunnar - great job of cleaning it up too. You might want to check out the historical society of your area to see what you can find on it as well.
