mxt???

I have had success with my MXT on the salt and surf. It's not the best for those conditions, but it's not the worse either. It can get noisy and chatter in the wet sand, but it can also get very good depth on low conductors like gold rings. I would recommend the 6x10 Eclipse or 1400 Deep Scan. The video on the M6 has some very good tips for beach hunting, you might want to check it out.

I used my MXT on Texas beaches this winter. It worked well in the dry and wet sand. I was using the 6x10 coil and ran no discrimination. I was in relic mode and could run in the + range. The coil floats in the water and went crazy when a wave washed over the coil.

I need some help, can anyone tell me why my MXT will hit a dime or quarter at 6" or 7" anytime I find one in a park, but if I dig a hole 7" deep and place a quarter flat, cover it back up I can,t get a beep or vdi, sometimes it will show iron. what is wrong with my MXT. Thanks for any help. p.s. ground reading is 68 to 72

with your MXT. There is a reason for it but I will let Monte or Jeff respond as it will make more sense coming from them.

thinks Tin Nugget, i don,t know what was wrong but my MXT would not pick up that quarter. A friend with me had a whites 6000 pro and it picked it up. maybe bad coil or something. I had the 9.5 on. Thinks for the reply. Flintstones

I seen this with my Shadow X5 too, but yet I was able to dig actual coins at 10 inches. I was told the reason for this is because I ground has been disturbed and there is air present. I was told next time to dig a plug and put the coin in the hole without disturbing the ground too much, then pack it tight as you can and try it again. It should show good now.
What I even did was take out a plug and put the coin in the hole and would get a signal, but once I put the plug back in the signal was gone, packed it down real good and the signal was there.
