MXT with the 12x15 SEF coil.....

Just got the new coil and went to a local school that I've punded for years. I only dug the deep targets. First target was a 1942 P war nickel (nice start), 3 Wheaties (1930D, 41S, 51). Then I got a DEEPPPP quarter reading, dug down and pulled out a 1845 Large Cent with a hole in it. Pinpointing is very easy with this large coil. The school was built around 1950/60"s. I think I'm going to like this new coil.

The wheatie's were down about 7 to 9 inches. The Large cent was easy over 11 inches. I was about to give up thinking it was a deep piece of iron or something.

Fantastic finds nice depth on the large cent.

Nice finds Joe, WTG.

Very nice finds. It's nice you could get a date off the Large Cent. One of my detecting goals is to find a Large Cent. Someday??? Fantastic and thanks so much for sharing. HH to all, Nancy

Hey Joe, I just got the same coil a couple of weeks ago and had one heck of a time pinpointing with it. Just so used to using my Pro-Coil that I forgot that I needed to learn the sweet spot on the SEF 12X15 coil. Just where do you pinpoint at with your coil.
Thanks in advance and Happy Huntin'

It is unbelievably easy for such a big coil. If you slide your finger down the front of the lower rod. That is where your target will be under the coil. That is of course it's not a coin on edge. That would throw it off. I can pinpoint with in a 2" circle of a target with this coil. UNBELIEVABLE. I have more trouble pin pointing with my round 12.5" Excelerator coil.
