MXT will find gold coins!

I hunt primarily pre civil war and civil war campsites but on November 6, 2008 I found a "find of a lifetime" for me. It's only taken me 25 years to find my first gold coin!!!

The MXT gave a faint whisper +47 on the VDI, dug well below the plow line at 9" deep and saw a site I will never forget as long as I live. After I saw what was in the hole, I had to stand back and take a pic.

and it took me just two more days to find my second gold coin.
 
Hey digger, nothing like finding gold in your hole. It puts a whole new prospective on detecting!! Your coins are beautiful, I bet you held them all the way home. Great job!!!:thumbup::clapping:
 
Was that the same area you found the Civil War relics?

Im in awe, that is great. I get excited finding a silver coin so I can imagine, no wonder your hands was shaking. And then a second one,what a nice early Christmas for you.

Totally AWESOME find, congrats.
 
Here are the photos taken 2 days later at same site. It registered +93 on the VDI at just 2" deep. The plow had drug it 20ft. away from center of the campsite. That is the reason it was found so shallow and also occurred some scratches as well but it's a beauty!!!

Awsome find KSdigger!!!!! Now this is the kind of story that keeps me searching. Is there any story you can add, this is GREAT!
 
Those are great finds, that's the good thing about gold coins, when you find them they look as good as the day they were lost. :clapping:
