MXT vs MXT PRO

As many of you know, I've got one of the first MXT's that came off the production line. Well, today while hunting with it, it wasn't performing like it should. I was fighting to catch any little signal and then it was a guess as to what I was digging. Not good. Memorial cents were ringing up at 80-82. Very confusing. Something is definitely wrong with my poor MXT. Guess It's time to send it in.

Finally, I told Larry I needed to switch to my new/used MXT Pro. He put the DX-1 pinpointer on the MXT Pro and off I went. I was hearing targets like I should be. The machine was fine tuned to my liking and I was enjoying detecting again. Shortly after using the MXT Pro, I dug this no date Standing Liberty quarter. Not too shabby. The Pro felt good and sounded great.

Thanks for looking and HH,
Nancy

Nice finds Nancy. My MXT did that once. Had to send it in. Needed a new circuit board as it somehow got out of calibration. Whites did it for $0. :clapping: Good luck. CCH

Thanks EJ, I had sent it in quite a few years ago and they did the same thing to mine. I'm sure that's what it needs again. Also the headphone jack is really loose......again. Hope you're doing well down there. Been thinking of you guys.

Always a nice surprise when an SLQ turns up. Sorry to hear about your original MXT. Imagine the repair shop can get it squared away for you right quick.

Thanks Rich, It's a good time of the year to get the old MXT repaired. At least it's not the beginning of detecting season.

How bout trying out the MX sport Nancy, while you wait?

I would love to. Who's buying? :detecting::bouncy: I wish I had one to give it a try!!! HH, Nancy

Ms Nancy, could you give any technical, mechanical differences between the regular MXT and the Pro---also which has a True all metal, not just a 0 discriminate AM. Thanks.

Thanks Remfire, that skate key sure brought back the memories.

Even though your MXT is tired and needs to go to Sweethome for a makeover, you will miss it like one of your kids away at summer camp :) . When you get it back all refreshed just remember not to hug it in front of anyone :)
