MXT vs. DFX

I have been using a DFX for the last several day's and have been able to do a sidexside on depth. I used the hottest programs on the dfx site and the MXT beat it everytime on several coins that the MXT picked up the DFX missed. Let's just say in the the last month I have bought and tried a Quattro and a DFX and neither was better or as good (my personal view)don't want to start a brand war. The only other detector that I have that I like as much is my old CZ-5 guess I just like the old 5.

We both feel the same way about these two detectors.

For some the MXT will do better than any other detector will for them. The reason is they understand it better. I find the MXT the best Whites I have ever use and recomend it highly as it is so easy to use and has the power to get the deeper ones.
On side by side comparison with me with the MXT and by hunting buddies with the Explorer or Sovereigns I can get most they do, but they do get a few I do not either. Myself I like the MXT for it ease to use, but do like my Explorers, Quattro and Sovereigns for deep target ID and where seperation is needed. I will say the little mini shooter 4X6 coil will beat the Minelabs in target seperation with decent depth in very trashy areas.

Randy,
I like you have a MXT and a CZ-5. I love both. The MXT for all the information it gives and the CZ5 for the raw depth. These are the only two detectors a guy needs. So I won't even talk about the other 6 I have and don't use.

I have had quite a bit of experience w/ the XLT. I got an MXT when they first came out. Used it for several months. Sold it an bought a DFX. Fiddled w/ that thing for 8 months. Finally did a side by side comparison....the MXT consistently beat it by about 1 1/2 - 2" for depth. Sold the DFX and got me a MXT.
If you want to fiddle w/ programs and fuss and worry about settings for finding coins....get a DFX. BUT, if you want to actually FIND the coin, etc., get an MXT. Besides, you just can't beat the versatility of the MXT. HH. Phil.
